ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

In this 3 day photography workshop, you will learn valuable lessons on how to improve your photography, and develop skills on how to create thought provoking images. With travel street photography, you will have the opportunity to photograph people, architecture, still life subjects, animals, and even some action, etc. This is my favorite thing to do when I travel and I look forward to sharing and teaching what I do with you.

You will learn techniques that you need to know "right now" to create beautiful photographs, and worry about the more advanced stuff later. This workshop will be very high on inspiration and technique and low on technical and camera gear talk. It's the way I learned when I started out, and it's exactly the way I will show you during the workshop.

This class is ideal for both beginners and intermediate photography enthusiasts; even advanced photographers will benefit from some editing techniques that I will teach during this workshop. No experience in photography? No problem! If you like photography and have the desire to learn how to create better photos, this class is for you! This workshop is open to anyone who likes photography!

I am honored to partner with Rock Academy to make this workshop happen.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

Day 1 - October 26, WEDNESDAY 10 am-5 pm

We will meet at 10 am  at Rock Academy in Diest for introductions. The next hour will be spent showing you my own body of photography work. It will be followed with specific street photography work I have done and telling the short stories behind each photo. The intention is to inspire you and give you a jump start with street photography. I will answer any questions you may have on any  of the photos and will encourage a very engaging discussion on the "whys" and the "whats" of the photos. A presentation of the fundamentals of street photography will follow. I will give challenges to each participants as we prepare to go out and shoot photography the following day in the beautiful city of Brugge. The day will end at about 5 pm this day.

Day 2 - October 27, THURSDAY 8 am - 5 pm

We will start at 8 am this day and meet in the city of Brugge. We will start by orienting ourselves and planning our walking route in Brugge. We will make the most out of the morning light and photograph as much as we can. I will coach and give feedback to all the participants throughout the morning photo walk. This will be a lot of FUN! At noon we will all eat lunch together and continue discussions on challenges we've encountered, the lessons that we learned, and sharing a-ha moments with the whole group. After lunch, we will continue to photograph around Brugge and apply and adjustments on your shooting style based on the feedback you received during lunch. We will end this day around 5 pm.

Day 3 - October 28, FRIDAY 10 am - 5 pm

We will meet at 10 am back at Rock Academy . Today will all be dedicated to evaluating   your photos from the previous day and learning editing skills to make your photos stand out. I will give a presentation on my own photography workflow. I will teach and show you exactly what I do when I edit my photos. We will cover color correction, the art of cropping, and photo sharpening, and converting your photos into black & whites. This is where much of the magic really happens - in editing! I will teach you just enough techniques that you need to know to make your photo stand out. For photo editing, we will focus on Adobe Lightroom Software. After this, you will go through your images and apply the same workflow I presented. Throughout this process, I will continue to coach and guide you through your editing practice. We will end the day by each participant sharing their top ten photos from the workshop. The whole class will be encouraged to give a critique, positive or constructive, on your photos. Your top ten photos will be uploaded to my website on a special on-line gallery specially dedicated to your workshop group. This day will end at 4 pm.
